to poet (perilune)
turned my heart into a fish bowl
so you could stare into the depths
like a visitor at the aquarium
watching from your side of the glass
as shadows play with light in the water
a school out of nowhere emerges
out of deep dark waters
transparent mushroom headed
cartoon jellyfish clouding
up the seas in swarms
leaving silver flakes
fish food sinking
like rusty leaves falling
in slow motion.
they’re nothing to be afraid of
the transparent mushrooms
of my heart that is
until one of them reaches out
through the glass
and touches you
