Job Interview #6352.4
diary of a programmer 117
today I have a job interview and I couldn’t care less.
I know it’s not a good state of mind with which to go
into the interview but now that I’ve got claude’s ear
to whisper into and now that I feel like I can build
anything and everything I want to on my own
I don’t really want to work for anyone else.
but building and building and building without pay
while it contains echoes of a pre-trade pre-meritocracy
past when humans were working purely to sustain
their own livelihood and the livelihood of those
by whom they were surrounded is just an unreasonable
dream and so naive and stupid and something an artist
would want with ego and arrogance and I would just ask
that you take the open face of your palm and draw it
across my cheek and snap me out of this delusion
of living off of German unemployment like a yuppie bum
like a bloody hippy raised by hippies who goes around
touting the blind belief that if you just do what you love
you will garner the support of the universe.
but the truth is that the ground below me is slowly cracking
and slowly I am realizing the fucking stars in my eyes
aren’t stars at all but instead glaucoma growing.
