Cover My Body in Stars
waiting as if I am dead for you
to pull a blanket of stars over me
to entomb me in the universe
as I sleep at the keyboard
a black headed white bodied ibis flies
overhead way up in the sky
I am the embodiment of magic
he sings as he dives through a cigar
ring of smoke laughing or crying
memories
pour out of the sky
stupid that I am not outside
camping in the summer
but human and living in a box
with a roof
I don’t remember any of it
